Terms of Use

Covers this website and the commercial basics of Reward Study. Your use of the app itself is governed by Apple's license agreement, which you accept when you download it.

Section 1

What these terms cover

This page covers your use of the reward.study website and the commercial basics of the Reward Study app. Your use of the app itself is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which you accept when you download from the App Store. You can read it at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where Apple's agreement and this page disagree, Apple's agreement wins for anything concerning the app.

Section 2

The website

This site describes the app and provides a way to make contact. You are welcome to read it, link to it and quote from it with attribution. The text, the design and the mascot artwork remain my property and should not be reproduced in another product or marketing material.

Screenshots on this site show the app as it stands at the time of writing. Software changes, so what you see here may differ slightly from the version you install.

Section 3

Buying the app

Reward Study Pro is a subscription. It costs $39.99 a year, with a 14-day free trial, or $2.99 a week, with no trial. A new family starts with the trial, and onboarding ends on the choice of plan. There is no free version for anyone installing from version 1.3 on.

There is also a lifetime plan. Reward Study Pro, lifetime, costs $99.99, is bought once through the App Store and never renews. It includes Pro for good, the Second Household and Reward Ideas add ons, and every future update, and there is nothing to cancel.

The trial turns into the paid year unless you cancel it before it ends. Both plans renew automatically until cancelled. You cancel in your App Store subscription settings, or in the app under Settings, Reward Study Pro, Manage subscription, which opens Apple's sheet. After you cancel, Pro keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for. When a paid period ends without renewing, your household and its ledger stay where they are, on your devices and in your iCloud, and the app goes back to one child, four active tasks and three rewards until you subscribe again.

Pro gives you unlimited children, active tasks and rewards, maths word problems written on your device by Apple Intelligence, and the ledger exported as a CSV file. The Apple TV scoreboard is part of the app for every household and is not a Pro feature.

Section 4

Who you buy from, and who it covers

All purchases are made through Apple, not through me. Apple is the merchant of record. Prices shown on this site are in US dollars and are indicative. The price you pay is the one the App Store shows you at checkout in your own currency, including any local tax.

Purchases apply to any device signed in to the same Apple Account. Reward Study Pro is shared with your family group through Apple Family Sharing.

Pro covers every household you own. A co-parent you invite into your household gets the Pro features there through the household itself, so they need no subscription of their own for it. A parent who owns their own household needs Pro for that household, through their own subscription or their purchase from before version 1.3.

Section 5

Earlier installs and the add ons

If you installed Reward Study before version 1.3, in September 2026, nothing changes for you and nothing is asked of you. Reward Study Pro is included for good on every Apple Account that had the app before then, whether you had bought it or were using the free version, and a Pro bought as a one-time purchase stays exactly what it was. You never see the subscription and you never need it.

The add ons are one-time purchases that never renew: Second Household at $4.99 and Reward Ideas at $1.99, which is fifty ready-made reward ideas with suggested prices. Every Apple Account owns one household, included. Second Household lets the same Apple Account own a second household of its own, with its own children, tasks, rewards and ledger. It never covers a third. Being invited into a household never needs the add on and costs nothing.

Both add ons are included in the lifetime plan.

Section 6

Refunds

Apple handles all refunds for App Store purchases. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, or from the store screen in the app, which offers Apple's refund request sheet. I can neither issue a refund nor block one.

If something in the app is not working as described, write to support@no.spam.invalid.reward.study first. A fix is usually faster than a refund.

Section 7

What the app is not

Reward Study is a tool for organising chores, homework and rewards inside a household. It is not educational assessment software, and the maths practice it generates is not a curriculum. It does not supervise children and does not replace your judgement about what your child should be doing.

The optional credit to currency display is a presentation setting, not a financial product. Reward Study holds no funds, transfers nothing between family members and is not a payment service. Any money that changes hands in your household is arranged entirely by you, outside the app.

Decisions about tasks, credit values, rewards and deductions are yours. The app records them and shows them to your child. It does not decide anything on its own.

Section 8

Availability and support

The app is maintained against current versions of iOS, and support email is answered as quickly as one person reasonably can. Reward Study is developed by one person alongside other commitments, so no fixed response time is guaranteed and no undertaking is given that a particular feature will be built.

The app depends on Apple services, including iCloud, CloudKit, Family Sharing and, for word problems, Apple Intelligence. Apple also determines which languages Apple Intelligence supports. If Apple changes or withdraws one of those services, the feature relying on it may change or stop working, which is outside my control.

Section 9

Your data

Your family's data lives in your own iCloud rather than with me. Retaining it is your responsibility in the same way as any other iCloud content. The privacy policy explains this in full.

Backing up your device through iCloud or a computer protects your household data the same way it protects everything else on the device.

Section 10

Liability

The app and this website are provided as they are. No warranty is given that the app will be free of defects or that it will suit any purpose beyond what is described here.

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app or this site. Nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in, and if a term here conflicts with a mandatory consumer protection in your country, that protection applies instead.

Section 11

Changes

These terms may change as the app changes. The effective date at the top tells you which version you are reading. Continuing to use the site or the app after a change means the current version applies.
